RHOP Star Candiace Dillards Mom Addresses Harsh Criticism Over Her Response To Candiaces

‘Real Housewives of Potomac’ is back and in full swing. The first episode found Candiace Dillard and her mother at a crossroads over the fact that she invited her half brother to her wedding.

The illegitimate child was a result of Candiace’s father cheating on her mother. The strange part about it was that the couple stayed together and had Candiace years later.

The reality star has been in contact with her sibling for quite some time and decided to invite him to her nuptials which was seemingly a betrayal to Dorothy. The mother of the bride completely went off during Sunday’s episode and seemed to place more of the blame on Candiace’s brother instead of her dad which shocked viewers.

She received criticism for her actions under ‘RHOP’ fan pages where she decided to defend herself. Reality Blurb was able to capture a screenshot of her reaction.

“It is not for me to accept anything or anybody. It had nothing to do with me. [Candiace] has been on her own for 14 years. I have no concern with who she has a relationship with. I live in another state. I love my daughter very much, I do need a little more respect from her. Besides that, we are good. We are on a TV show, yes, she knows how to bring the drama. She threw that crap in my face because she knew it would provoke me.”

Her daughter responded by telling Dorothy that she was actually making things worse. The former beauty queen also offered an update on her relationship with her half brother.

“Me and my brother are fine. I actually have never shared my mom’s sentiments about him WITH him because I just never felt it was necessary. There was never a need for that kind of negativity in our interactions or conversations. We mostly talk about how we are doing as individuals when we catch up: how his job is going, how his business ventures are going and what’s new with me. We keep it light. He’s really funny and a very intellectual thinker so our conversations always tend to run a little long.”
